New Zealand grower-marketer The Fresh Berry Company says it has teamed up with Driscoll’s to sell Eterna, which was recently certified as the world’s largest blueberry variety by Guinness Book of World Records.
As reported by Radio New Zealand, the berries are being planted in the northern regions of Kerikeri and Waikato, and should be available in stores in 2026.
According to general manager Simon Tallon, plant material has been cleared by the country’s Ministry for Primary Industries and approved for growers to use.
The Eterna variety was developed by Costa Group as part of its Variety Improvement Program and is licensed worldwide by Driscoll’s.
