Camposol is set to become the largest employer in Peru thanks to its rapidly expansion berry production and export operation. The company is to hire around 10,000 new employees in the next six years, bringing its total workforce to 25,000 during peak production periods.camposol employers

The new positions include cranberry harvesters in the Chao/Virú area, irrigation installation operators and maintenance technicians, and workers for the blueberry packing plant.

A number of existing workers have also been promoted to manage the growing workforce. Two of them, Gilmer Ramos Segura and Vanessa Cabrera Tocas, said the expansion had provided them with more opportunities to develop professionally and personally.

“With the support of Camposol I have been able to grow as a worker and as a person, assuming new responsibilities in the cultivation of blueberries, which will allow for more Peruvians to work and be provided with opportunities for growth,” said Ramos Segura, who was recently promoted to the position of blueberry harvest supervisor.

Cabrera said Camposol “rewards all the effort that one makes every day,” and “gives us all the tools that we need in order to achieve our goals.”

The company said in a press release that it is committed to the sustainable development of the communities in which they operate.

“Camposol provides childcare services, summer courses and medical campaigns for the employees’ children, amongst other social welfare activities,” it stated. “Additionally, Camposol encourages local entrepreneurship through sustainable projects and is currently developing a major housing project in order to provide their employees access to decent and safe housing.”
