Africa’s berry potential takes the spotlight at the Morocco Berry Conference 2025

As the global berry market continues to expand, Africa is gaining recognition as one of the most
dynamic and promising regions in the world for berry cultivation. With its vast climatic diversity,
growing investment, and strong spirit of innovation, the continent is laying the foundation for a new
agricultural era,  one that is both collaborative and sustainable.
This year, the Morocco Berry Conference 2025, taking place on November 13, 2025, at the Palais des
Congrès Les Dunes d’Or in Agadir, will put “African Berries” at the heart of its program. The event
aims to highlight Africa’s progress, connect industry leaders across the continent, and explore how
innovation and partnership are shaping a competitive and sustainable future for the berry sector.
A Continent on the Move
Over the past decade, Africa’s berry production has evolved rapidly. Morocco has become a leading
exporter, supported by advanced farming technologies, efficient logistics, and strong international
partnerships. Meanwhile, South Africa continues to consolidate its position, and new players such as
Egypt, Zimbabwe, and Kenya are gaining ground.
What unites these countries is a shared vision: to build an African berry industry that can meet global
standards in quality, sustainability, and innovation. Producers are investing in precision irrigation,
improved genetics, and digital farming tools, while research institutions and private investors are
joining forces to support long-term development.
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
The Morocco Berry Conference has become a benchmark event for the berry community. Each year,
it brings together researchers, growers, exporters, and suppliers to exchange knowledge and explore
emerging opportunities. The 2025 edition will go further, offering a platform for dialogue between
African nations and international stakeholders, with a focus on sustainable growth, innovation, and
market expansion.
Sessions will address critical topics, including climate resilience, varietal development, value chain
integration, and cross-border cooperation. The goal is clear: to strengthen Africa’s position as a key
contributor to the global berry supply chain.
Agadir: A Hub for African Innovation
Hosting the event in Agadir is symbolic. As one of Morocco’s main agricultural regions and a gateway
for exports, Agadir embodies the intersection of tradition and modernity that defines Africa’s
agricultural transformation. The conference venue, Les Dunes d’Or, will welcome participants from 25
countries for a day of learning, connection, and inspiration.
A Vision for the Future
The focus on “African Berries” reflects a broader ambition : to showcase Africa’s collective strength
and its potential to redefine global agricultural dynamics. The continent’s success in the berry sector is
more than an economic opportunity; it represents a movement toward innovation, sustainability, and
shared prosperity.
