Fresh Peruvian blueberries unlock the Indonesian market

Peru’s agricultural industry is celebrating a new milestone: The Andean country’s fresh blueberries have been officially authorized for export to Indonesia, a market with more than 281 million consumers.

“This is excellent news for the industry. Thanks to SENASA Peru’s work regarding phytosanitary management, and the blueberry sector’s commitment, today we celebrate the opening of the Indonesian market to our fresh blueberries,” said Proarándanos, Peru’s association of blueberry producers and exporters, in a LinkedIn post.

The organization highlighted that with the signing of this bilateral protocol, new opportunities open up for Peruvian producers and exporters.

“The technical visit of the Indonesian delegation led by the head of Indonesia’s quarantine authority, allowed them to check the high sanitary and quality standards of our fields and our packing facilities in Pisco,” added Proarándanos. The visit included representatives of the Indonesian embassy in Peru, Proarándanos, and Cosco Shipping Port Chancay.
