U.S.:Blueberry council seeks member nominees

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council’s industry relations committee is seeking nominees for importer, exporter and handler member positions on the council.us_highbush_blueberry

Three importer memberships, one for a Canada exporter and another for a handler are to be decided for a three-year term beginning in January 2017. Nominees for an alternate are also sought, according to a news release.

Blueberry industry participants who want to be considered must fax or e-mail a completed USHBC Handler & Importer/Exporter Nominee Application to the Folsom, Calif.-based council at 916-983-9022 or mvillata@ushbc.org, respectively, by Jan. 28, 2016.

The committee plans to present a slate of potential nominees to the council’s executive
committee for consideration by Feb. 4. The council will make final selections at its spring meeting March 2. There the council will recommend candidates to be considered for appointment by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.
